Each week, or more often, I will be writing a Blog on prophetic topics. It is my considered opinion that we are truly living in prophetic times. Everywhere we look, the prophecies in the Tanakh (Old Testament) are coming to fulfillment.
This was first seen when, seemingly out of nowhere, the United Nations, in 1948, resolved to establish a Jewish homeland for the Holocaust survivors in the Biblical heartland of ancient Israel. This was unwittingly done in fulfillment of Ezekiel 37, where the “dry bones” of ancient Israel and Judah suddenly came together as a united nation after nearly two thousand years of Jewish diaspora (dispersion). Out of the ashes of their many defeats and near annihilation, the Jewish people have come back into the Land of their forefathers, a great “army” of millions.
Today, Israel stands strong in a tough region where they are surrounded
by neighboring states that hate them to the death; even so, they have prospered against all who have sought to drive them out of the Land as they fight for their very survival. Isaiah prophesied that there would be two regatherings of the Jewish people; the first was their return from Babylon and the second, in the last days, (Isa. 11:10-16). In our own lifetime, that second regathering has been fulfilled right before our eyes and the prophecies tell us that the Jewish people will never again be dispersed or be removed from the Land that God swore to give to them forever, (Gen. 15:18, 17:19; Deut. 1:8; Josh. 1:4, 21:43; Num. 34:1-15).
But, despite all the blessings that God has showered on Israel since 1948, giving His people victory after victory over all who have sought to kill her people and drive them into the sea, a Day of reconning is still to come and I believe that that Day is drawing near. Because most of the Jewish people living in Israel have refused to acknowledge Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah and Savior, God has prophesied that He will have to bring them into the “Valley of Decision,” (Joel 2, 3:14). The Bible says that this will be a time of severe discipline known as the “time of Jacob’s trouble,” (Jer. 30:1-24), that will determine who among them will be found worthy to enter into Messiah’s millennial kingdom. This horrible time was spoken of by all of the prophets from Isaiah to Malachi and also by Yeshua (Jesus) in his Olivet Discourse, (Matt. 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21), and in the Revelation that He gave to the Apostle, John, (Rev. 1-20).
These blogs will dig deeply into Biblical prophecy, showing those from the Old and New Testaments that have already been fulfilled and those that are still awaiting fulfillment. So, fasten your seatbelts—this trip will thoroughly fascinate you as you see God’s Plan for the redemption of Israel unfolding before your eyes!
